On August 15, the feast of the Assumption of Mary, spend the day reflecting on this beautiful solemnity of Mary, what her Assumption means and how we are called to follow Jesus. Brian Egan, Cedarbrake director, and Father Harry Dean, the new Cedarbrake chaplain will present this retreat. The day, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will include Mass and lunch. Cost is $45.
Back by popular demand, Father Gilberto Cavasos-Gonzalez, OFM, returns August 19 - 21 to present a contemporary understanding of St. Bonaventure's Triple Way. For hundreds of years, Christian writers spoke of drawing closer to God through purgation, illumination and union. This retreat explores the triple movement of Christian discipleship and its implications for those seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus. Father Gilberto is a spirituality professor at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. The cost is $270 for a private room and $230 for a shared room.
