St. Austin offers a weekly assistance program on Thursday mornings and works with other University-area churches through Micah 6 Austin to coordinate outreach services. Help is offered to all in need regardless of faith affiliation or geographic location. Individuals and families are offered spiritual, emotional, and material support and referrals to other community resources. Material support includes financial assistance with utility bills, fees for Texas identification, referrals to our Micah 6 Food Pantry, work boots, clothing vouchers  and eye exams/corrective lenses.

Funding for this program is provided by donations through our monthly Collection for "Persons in Need". Parishoners also have an opportunity to assist with this program in the following ways:

-assist in receiving and serving our guests with kindness, dignity and efficiency
-interview guests and determine needs
-make phone calls to gather information
-provide hospitality
-provide referral information
-provide a listening presence 

Training is provided.
