Rev. Robert T. Scott, CSP, 1921–2012

Our beloved Fr. Bob Scott died peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly in Totowa, NJ.  A Wake service will be held July 18 from 4–8 p.m. and a  Mass of the Resurrection will be offered July 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s. Paulist President Father Michael B. McGarry will preside; Father Michael A. Hanly will deliver the homily. Interment will take place following the liturgy in the Paulist Fathers section of St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in Oak Ridge N.J. Father Scott was 90 years old.  Fr. Bob requested that no flowers be sent.  He preferred that any donations be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph Home for the Elderly, 140 Shepherd Street, Totowa, NJ 07512.  Donations may also be made to The Paulist Fathers, 3015 Fourth Street, NE, Washington, DC  20017.

So many were blessed by Fr. Bob’s priesthood during his 63 years of faithful and loving service with the Paulist Fathers.  Fr. Bob first came to St. Austin in 1981 and from that time until just last year, he served in many capacities here, at the University Catholic Center, St. Paul the Apostle in Horseshoe Bay, St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Baylor University and Southwestern University in Georgetown. He considered each assignment a “Good Stop.”   He has now passed on to his “Best Stop.”

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Austin at a date to be determined. May he rest in peace.
